Welcome

 August 2021

Dear Families,

Welcome to the new school year at Ha’aheo Elementary School.  I am looking forward to getting to know you and your child this year.  I am committed to helping every child in my class learn, supporting not only their academic needs, but social, emotional and developmental needs as well. I am also pleased to have the help and support of Ms. Jillian Hughes this year as she joins our classroom to complete her final year of the UHH teaching program.

Because our community continues to be impacted by Covid, we will be working to keep our students as safe as possible. Please send your child to school with a mask and a spare. When possible, students will be eating lunch outside. You may  send a towel for your child to  sit on during their lunch break. I will have them take their towel home on Fridays to wash.

Please do not send your child to school sick.  Students will be sent home at any sign of illness.  If your child has allergies, please send a note from the doctor documenting the allergies.  This will avoid having your child sent home from school due to allergies.

We will be using Go Guardian to facilitate ease of communication this year between school, class, and home.  More information regarding Go Guardian will be shared soon.

While our class takes great pleasure in making sure to acknowledge each child on their birthday, out of respect for children who suffer from food allergies, please do not send any food items (cupcakes, cake, candy etc…) for your child’s birthday. You are more than welcome to send any non-edible items such as pencils, stickers, etc…

Please feel free to communicate any questions or concerns. You can reach me at 974-4111 or by email at [email protected].

 Mahalo,

 Leah MacLeod

Kuleana Presentation

Here is our Kuleana video highlighting what kuleana does and does not look like around our school. All stunts were done under strict adult supervision. We had so much fun making this movie! Please enjoy!
Team Building Challenge
Each team member selected 1 marker to use during this activity.  They had to work cooperatively to create a picture without talking to other team members.  They were also not allowed to exchange or borrow markers during the activity.  I think the posters turned out great!!
